LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola senior pitcher/first baseman Lyndsie Roberts has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week after hitting over .500 in four games for the Eagles last week.

The senior from Bakersfield posted a .545 batting average, collecting six hits in 11 at bats to lead Biola too a 3-1 record in four non-conference games last week. Overall, Roberts reached base in all but five plate appearances.

On Monday, Roberts was 2-for-4 with a home run, two walks and three RBIs as the Eagles swept Doane College of Nebraska. She followed that up with a 4-for-7 day as Biola split a doubleheader against No. 13 Dickenson State University (N.D.) on Wednesday.

Roberts is batting .407 on the season and leads the team with seven home runs. She also has 24 RBIs, 14 runs scored and team-best .714 slugging percentage.

Biola is 19-11 overall and opens GSAC play on Tuesday, hosting Vanguard University at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Field.
