Box Score SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Biola picked up a key GSAC win to close out play before the break, beating The Master's College 60-47 behind 16 points each from Adijat Adams and Emily Drews on Saturday night at Bross Gymnasium.

The Eagles improve to 7-2 with their second-straight win, moving to 1-1 in GSAC play. The Mustangs fall to 6-5 overall and to 0-1 in the conference.

Biola had a solid shooting night all around, hitting 43% from the field in the game while the defense held The Master's to just 33% shooting including just 30% in the second half.

The Eagles received a game-high 16 points each from Adijat Adams and Emily Drews. Adams added eight rebounds, three assist and two steals in 33 minutes while Drews connected on a pair of shots from three-point range, pulled down five boards and had two assists and a steal. The pair combined to hit 14-of-25 for the Eagles.

Biola had a tough time pulling away in a back-and-forth first half, taking the lead for good just four minutes in. However, the game remained close with the Eagles leading by five at 22-17 with 6:37 to go in the half. However, a Jamie Elias three-pointer, back-to back layups by Chelsea Hill and a runner in the lane by Adams quickly made it a 14-point Biola lead just three minutes later. The Eagles would take a 33-21 lead to the half.

In the second, Lauren Gustafson drained a long three-pointer to open the period, then hit a fastbreak layup to quickly trench the Eagles' lead to 38-21. After the Mustangs narrowed it to 14, Biola again used a quick 8-0 run to stretch the lead to 46-24 at the 13:44 mark. The Eagles would lead by as many as 23 down the stretch before settling for the 14-point win after a late Master's flurry.

The Eagles' defense forced 19 turnovers and turned those into 17 points. Biola also dominated inside, holding a 35-30 edge in rebounds and a 28-16 lead in points in the paint.

Zoe Scott and Kristen Huff were the only two Mustang players in double figures, each scoring 10 points in the game.

The game was Biola's final game before Christmas. The Eagles return to the court on Thursday, December 29, hosting College of the Ozarks as part of the 2011 Biola University Holiday Classic, presented by Holiday Inn.
