LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Junior outside hitter Christine Douglas and freshman middle blocker Amy Weststeyn have been tabbed as members of the 2011 All-Golden State Athletic Conference team announced by the conference office on Monday.

Douglas, a 6-1 junior from Cypress, was one of the top outside hitters in the conference, finishing the regular season with the third most kills in the GSAC with 433 kills (3.46 per set). She also had the 10th-best attack percentage at .281. Douglas reached double-figures in kills in 26 of Biola's 35 matches including reaching 20 kills twice. 

Douglas, who has a second-team NAIA All-American and All-GSAC selection last season, seemed to save the best for last. She recorded 35 kills and posted a .448 attack percentage over the final two matches of the regular season against No. 11 Fresno Pacific and a tough Master's team. In addition to her solid offense, her defense has improved by leaps and bounds this year. Douglas finished with 81 blocks (0.65 per set) including 18 solo. That's twice the total she had last season.

Weststeyn, a 6-3 freshman from Visalia, had one of the best freshman seasons by a Biola volleyballer in recent memory. She finished the regular season as the top blocker in the conference by a large margin, recording 136 blocks--20 ahead of teammate Rachel Buckley who had the second most. She averaged 1.21 blocks per set and twice recorded double-digit blocks, setting then matching the school record for blocks in a five-set match with 11. 

Weststeyn also had 249 kills (2.22 per set) during the regular season and ranked fifth in the conference with a .333 attack percentage. She also had a strong finish to the season, with 52 kills and 33 blocks over the final five matches.

Biola wrapped up the regular season with a 23-12 record and was ranked No. 9 in the final regular season poll. The Eagles clinched their fifth-straight trip to the NAIA Tournament and earned a bye in the opening round. Biola heads directly to the Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa, for the NAIA Tournament Nov. 29-Dec. 3.
