LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola outside hitter
Christine Douglas has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 20-26, the conference office announced on Monday.
Douglas, a sophomore from Cypress, recorded 31 kills and added six blocks—two of which were solo—to lead No. 9 Biola to a pair of upset wins over NAIA Top 10 teams last week.
On Tuesday, Douglas had 12 kills and four blocks as the Eagles knocked off No. 7 Azusa Pacific in four games at Azusa. She followed that up with a 19-kill, two-block performance in a four-game win over No. 2 California Baptist on Saturday.
For the season, Douglas has 264 kills which averages out to 4.26 kills per set, the third-highest mark in the conference. She has recorded at least nine kills in each of Biola's 16 matches this season, reaching double-figures in 14 of them.
