LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola pounded out 22 hits and scored 23 runs in 10 innings while holding its opponent to just one hit in each game, sweeping a non-conference doubleheader against Concordia University-Chicago by scores of 10-0 and 13-0 on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles improve to 12-8 on the season with the victories while the Cougars fall to 0-6.

Biola opened up the day with a strong showing as Kristin Larson tossed a one-hitter in the first game. Meanwhile, the Eagles got on the board early thanks to a two-run home run by Krista Johnson.

Biola added four runs in each of the next two innings, though just two ended up being earned. Leslie Larson recorded an RBI-single in each inning, as did Brittany Bury.

Kristin Larson continued to cruise and picked up the win to improve to 5-4 on the season. Despite walking four and hitting a pair of batters, she allowed just one hit, a first-inning single. In the first, Concordia loaded the bases with one out and appeared to score a run on a sacrifice fly, but the runner from third was called out on appeal for leaving early, ending the inning.

In the second game, Biola again came out firing, scoring five runs in the first. Morgan Facchini broke the ice with an RBI single to get things going and Leslie Larson picked up another two runs with a single later in the inning. Lauren Gandy drove home the final run with an RBI-single.

The Eagles tacked on four more runs in the second with three coming on one swing of the bat. Sara Smith cleared the bases with a triple to right field, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into an inside-the-park home run.

After adding an unearned run in the third, Biola capped the scoring with four in the fourth with Leslie Larson and Jillian Storm providing RBI-singles.

Lyndsie Roberts was stellar from the circle in the second game, surrendering a two-out single in the second and that was it. She improves to 7-4 on the season.

Smith finished the day going 3-for-4 with a pair of walks with four runs scored and three RBIs. Bury added four hits in six at-bats to raise her team-best batting average to .429 on the season.

Biola returns to action on Friday with the second of three consecutive doubleheaders against a team with the nickname "Cougars." Friday, the Eagles travel down to San Marcos to face the Cougars of Cal State San Marcos in a non-conference doubleheader. On Tuesday, Biola returns home to face the Azusa Pacific University Cougars on Tuesday in a return to GSAC play.
