LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Despite putting up a bit of a fight during doubles play, Biola could not muster enough magic to pull off the upset, falling 9-0 to No. 3 Concordia in its GSAC opener on Saturday morning at the Biola Tennis Center.
Biola falls to 1-2 on the season and to 0-1 in GSAC play while Concordia improves to 2-0 and to 1-0 in conference action.
During doubles play, Biola battled hard against the nationally-ranked players on the Concordia squad. In the No. 3 doubles match,
Nicholas Lazar and
Ryan Adams made some noise, hanging with Concordia's players, but eventually falling 8-5. The other two doubles matches ended at 8-3.
In singles competition, Biola was unable to muster much as
Weston Leopold won the lone two games for the Eagles in his No. 1 singles match.
Biola returns to the courts on Monday (Feb. 15) for a GSAC match up at Fresno Pacific University. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
