LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Jillian Storm recorded four hits in five at-bats and the Biola pitching staff allowed just seven hits over 14 innings as the Eagles swept a GSAC doubleheader over Hope International by scores of 2-0 and 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Freedom Field.

Biola improves to 15-14 on the season and to 7-9 in conference play while the Royals drop to 11-25 and 0-16 in the GSAC.

The Eagles pounded out 19 hits in the twinbill, led by Storm's 4-for-5 performance. The sophomore also reached base on a walk and was hit by a pitch, reaching base in her final six plate appearances of the day. Krista Johnson also had an impressive day, going 3-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Meanwhile, the pitching of #Lyndsie Roberts and Kristin Larson# was stellar. Roberts picked up the win in the first, scattering four hits while striking out nine of seven scoreless innings. She improves to 8-5 on the season thanks to her second shutout of the season. Larson took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with a three-hitter. She would allow one run in the seventh and struck out three to bump up her record to 3-5 overall and lower her ERA to 0.77.

The Eagles took a while to get on the board despite putting runners in scoring position in each of the first three innings. In the fourth, Brittany Bury recorded a one-out hit, stole second and came around to score on a single by Storm to make it 1-0.

Biola added another run in the fifth inning. Johnson led off the frame with a walk and was sacrificed to second. With two outs, Lyndsie Roberts drove her in with a double off the right-center field fence.

In the second game, Biola jumped out early with a three-spot in the first. With two out and runners at first and second, Johnson cleared off the bases with a double to deep left-center field to make it 2-0. After a single by Erica Moyer, Kristin Larson drove home the third run of the inning with a single up the middle.

The Eagles added another run on a Hope error in the second, then tacked on another run in the third inning on an RBI single, which scored Larson. Biola closed out the scoring in the fourth with another unearned run. Johnson recorded her second double of the game to lead off the inning. That was followed by a bunt single by Moyer with Johnson advancing to third on the hit and scoring on a throwing error.

Larson was strong in the circle, not allowing a hit until the sixth inning. With one out in the sixth, Hope recorded its first hit as Bree Briones hit a single just fair inside the first-base line. The Royals got on the board in the seventh with two out as Caitlin Angel hit a double and scored on a double by Sheyna Alarcon. After Hope loaded the bases with two out, Larson ended the game by coaxing an infield popout off the bat of Briones.

Biola returns to action on Saturday (Apr. 4), traveling to Riverside to battle No. 1 California Baptist in a GSAC doubleheader beginning at Noon.
