GAME ONE BOX SCORE
GAME TWO BOX SCORE

WALNUT, Calif. --- Krista Johnson opened the day with a lead-off home run and Keena Levert added one in the second game as Biola rebounded with a doubleheader sweep of GSAC foe Hope International by scores of 7-2 and 5-2 on Friday afternoon at Mt. SAC.

The Eagles improve to 5-2 on the season and 2-2 in GSAC play while dropping the Royals to 4-8 and 0-4 in the conference.

Johnson and Levert each collected five hits on the day to pace Biola, which collected 25 hits on the day. Johnson finished 5-for-9 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs while Levert went 5-for-7 with a walk, four RBIs and three runs scored.

The Eagles got off to a quick start in the twinbill thanks to Johnson's lead-off blast . They would add one more in the frame on an RBI-single by Levert. Hope got a run back in the bottom of the inning, scoring an unearned run to pull within one.

The score would remain the same until the fifth, when Levert and Morgan Facchini collected back-to-back doubles to stretch the lead to four. Once again Hope answered back right away with a run in the bottom of the inning, but that would be it for the Royals.

Biola came right back with two more runs in the sixth to stretch the lead to 6-2 thanks to an RBI-single by Johnson and a pinch-hit, run-scoring single by Kacie Lyding. The Eagles would close out the scoring in the seventh with one final run, this one coming off the bat of newcomer Jillian Albert

Sophomore Lyndsie Roberts (3-1) scattered four hits and allowed just one earned run over seven innings while striking out eight to win her third game of the season.

In game two, Biola had a chance to strike early again, but despite a pair of baserunners in each of the first two innings, the Eagles were unable to break the ice. That all changed in the top of the third as Johnson opened the frame with a double and came around to score on a single by Levert. She would then come around to score later in the game thanks to a single by Jillian Storm

After allowing a run to the Royals in the bottom of the third, Biola answered right back with a pair in the fourth. Lauren Gandy drove in Johnson with a long triple, then came around to score the fourth run on a wild pitch.

Biola closed out the scoring in the sixth on Levert's home run and held on for the 5-2 win.

Sophomore pitcher Erica Moyer allowed six hits and just one run through seven innings, walking a batter but striking out five to improve to 2-1 overall.

After a slow start to the season, Levert is finally back to her strong hitting ways. She started out the season going 0-for-8, the senior has now collected eight hits in her last 14 at-bats to raise her average to .364 on the season.

Biola hosts its annual Alumni game on Saturday (Feb. 28) beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Freedom Field. After that, the Eagles travel to Florida to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic next week. The tournament runs from Thursday through Saturday (Mar. 5-7) in Panama City Beach, Florida.
