Biography

2010: Competed in five races as a true freshman...best finish came in her first collegiate race, placing seventh (17:53) at the University of Redlands Invitational...placed 38th at the GSAC Championships (19:35) and took 37th at the Biola Invitational.

High School: Attended Martin Luther King High School in Riverside where she participated in track and cross country...helped Wolves to four-straight Big 8 League titles, earning all-league honors in each season...also helped track team to league title as a sophomore, junior and senior...graduated as the school record holder in the 1600 with a time of 5:01...earned scholar-athlete honors each season...also played softball prior to high school on an ASA travel team, helping the squad to three national championships.

Personal: Majoring in communications with plans to become an event planner...parents are John and Deborah Asplund...has one older sister, Jennifer (24).
