SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The Biola women's soccer team visited PLNU Soccer Field to take on the Point Loma Sea Lions. The Eagles fell to the Sea Lions, 4-0.
The Eagles came out firing early, putting up nine shots in the opening 45 minutes.
Briley Phelps recorded three attempts in the opening three minutes before
Jade Alverio nearly put Biola in front in the ninth minute, sending a shot off the crossbar.
Point Loma broke through in the 31st minute to take a 1-0 advantage. The Sea Lions doubled their lead seven minutes later, sending Biola into halftime trailing 2-0.

Sami Robinson kept the deficit at two heading into the break, turning aside a Point Loma penalty kick in the 40th minute.
The Sea Lions continued to apply pressure in the second half, but Robinson made three saves over the opening 18 minutes of the period to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
Point Loma eventually added to its advantage with two goals just over a minute apart. The Sea Lions scored in the 68th minute on a header at the back post before adding another in the 69th to make it 4-0.
Laura Brennan took over in goal following the fourth goal and kept Point Loma off the board for the remainder of the match, recording two saves in just over 21 minutes of action.
Biola finished the afternoon with 13 shots, including three on goal. Phelps led the Eagles with four attempts and two shots on frame, while
Riley Brumfield recorded three shots. Robinson finished with five saves in nearly 69 minutes in goal.
The Eagles move to 3-3-1 on the season. They return home and host Chaminade on Saturday, September 26th at 4 p.m.
