Looking Toward Conference Championship

Biola fell 4-3 to Menlo in eight innings, PacWest Championships begin May 5.

ATHERTON, Calif.---The Biola softball team fell 4-3 to Menlo College in extra innings.

The Eagles and Oaks resumed play in the top of the eighth inning, tied 3-3. Biola was up to bat with a runner on first and one out. Despite a good effort, BU wasn't able to push the run across. Menlo capitalized in the bottom half of the inning, walking off the game with three hits and a timely sacrifice bunt.

Biola totaled five hits in the eight-inning contest. Lillianna Garcia and Mikala Huskey batted .500 against the Oaks.

Kayla Bousquette started the game and threw seven innings, allowing nine hits and three runs to score. DJ Symons closed out the competition, allowing Menlo one run and three hits. 

Next up for Biola is the PacWest Championships at Freedom Field. The Eagles are the second seed in the conference championships. Their first game is Tuesday, May 5 at 5 p.m.
