Eagles in Command at Home

The Biola Eagles shutout Westmont College at the Biola Tennis Center.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team shutout Westmont College 7–0 at the Biola Tennis Center on Saturday morning.

The Eagles set the tone early by securing the doubles point. Biola claimed victories on courts two and three, as Cassie Donar and Dafne Andres earned a 6–4 win, while Isabelle Karam and Yeo Kyung Kim followed with a 6–2 victory to give the Eagles a 1–0 lead heading into singles play.

Biola carried that momentum into singles, sweeping all six courts, with five wins coming in straight sets. Cassie Donar recorded Biola's first win on the sixth court (6-0, 6-1).

The Eagles next two wins came from the first and second courts. Kailee Mazzeo won 6–0, 6–2 on the first court and Alessia Radu followed with a dominant 6–2, 6–0 victory on court two.

Kim added the next victory on court four (6–1, 6–4), and Karam followed with an exciting win on the fifth court. Karam won her first set 7-5 in the tiebreak and her second set 6-1.

Dafne Andres capped the match with a battle on court three. Andres won her first set 6-4, lost the second 5-7 in a tiebreak and outlasted her opponent 11-9 in the super set.

Biola improved 10-6 overall while Westmont fell 7-11. Biola plays next on Thursday, April 2nd at Azusa Pacific.
