FRESNO, Calif.---The Biola women's tennis team came up short in a 5–2 loss to Fresno Pacific at the Haak Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles dropped the doubles point despite a strong showing from the third court. Yeo Kyung Kim and Alexis Romano secured a convincing 6–1 win, but Fresno Pacific claimed victories on courts one and two to take an early 1–0 lead.
In singles play, Biola earned two points behind dominant straight-set performances. Dafne Andres picked up a 6–4, 6–3 win on court three, while Kim delivered a commanding 6–0, 6–2 victory on court four.
The Sunbirds, however, controlled the remaining courts to secure the match. Kailee Mazzeo fell on court one (1–6, 3–6), and Alessia Radu dropped a competitive match on court two (4–6, 6–7). Isabelle Karam was defeated 3–6, 4–6 on court five.
On court six, Alexis Romano battled through a tight three-set contest, winning the opening set 6–7 before falling in the next two sets as Fresno Pacific sealed the 5–2 victory.
Biola will look to bounce back tomorrow Wednesday, March 25 at 9 a.m. against Menlo College.
