Biola Battles Back In Victory

The Biola Eagles battled back from behind to defeat HPU.

KAILUA, Hawaii---The Biola men's tennis team had a strong start to their Hawaii road trip, defeating Hawaii Pacific 4-3 at the Kailua Racquet Club.

The Eagles were put at a disadvantage when they lost the doubles point but would be ready to battle during singles.

Biola lost the first singles match but swept the next four.

Juan Vallejo won 6-4, 6-4 on the sixth court, Angel Guerrero Melgar won 7-5, 6-3 on the first court, Pol Masafret Hernandez won 6-3, 10-8 on the fourth court and Alejandro Flores Monteverde clinched the match with his victory on the second court. Flores Monteverde lost his first set 4-6 and would come back to win the next two 7-5, 6-3.

BU improves 3-0 overall while Hawaii Pacific fell 2-1.

Biola plays next against Hawaii Hilo on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the UH Tennis Complex.
