Opener Gets Away

Villegas drives in the lone run for Biola

FRESNO, Calif. --- The Biola baseball team traveled to Dan Martin Stadium to take on Fresno Pacific for an afternoon doubleheader. The Eagles lost game one, 5-1. 

The Sunbirds scored in the first three innings with two in the first, one in the second, and one in the third. They tacked on one more in the fifth before the Eagles scored their first run in the seventh. An RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Kevin Villegas scored Luke Caruso. 

Jack O'Brasky got the start for Biola. He threw three and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs on five hits, striking out one. Gabe Magallan came on in relief and dished out four and third innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out one. 

Luke Ballantyne will get the start in game two, scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
