Biola Battles to Scoreless Draw

Robinson and Brennan combine for 10 saves as Biola remains unbeaten in PacWest play

LA MIRADA --- The Biola women's soccer team and Hawaii Hilo played to a 0-0 draw Thursday afternoon at Al Barbour Field, with the Eagles' goalkeepers combining for 10 saves to secure the clean sheet.

Hawaii Hilo outshot Biola 17-8 and put 10 attempts on goal, but the Eagles kept the Vulcans off the scoreboard. Sami Robinson played the first 45 minutes in goal and made two saves. Laura Brennan took over at halftime and made eight saves in the second half as Hilo pushed for a goal, recording 11 shots after the break.


Briley Phelps led the Biola attack with five shots, including three on goal. Taylin Laws added a shot on goal in the first half, while Hayden Gehring and Riley Brumfield each recorded an attempt.
Biola finished with four shots on goal and earned three corner kicks.


Phelps, Cassidy Sims and Taylor Bradshaw each played all 90 minutes for the Eagles.


The Eagles moved to 5-3-2 overall and 2-0-1 in PacWest play, while Hawaii Hilo moved to 4-2-3 overall and 1-0-2 in conference play.


They will travel to San Rafael to take on the Dominican Penguins at 12:30 p.m. on October 7th.
