Eight combined RBIs from Lorenzen and Torres power a 13–7 win

LA MIRADA — The Biola baseball team took to Eagles Diamond for their first game of a 52 game season. The Eagles defeated the visiting Regis Rangers in game one of two on Friday, by a final score of a 13-7.

"It was awesome to see the guys play today," stated head coach, Jesse Rodgers. "A lot of good efforts from the guys who just stepped on the field."

Ransom Lorenzen led Biola's offense with two homers and four RBIs while Adiel Torres followed with two hits and four RBIs of his own. Kyle Rogers had two hits and three RBIs. Oscar Knapp and Tommy Kendlinger each added a hit and an RBI. As a team, Biola drew seven walks, including six via hit by pitch

Torres drove in the first run for BU with a base hit to left field, driving in Luke Caruso. After a walk to James Whitman, Rogers took on the deepest part of the yard, homering to center field. Regis put themselves on the board in the bottom of the third after a balk and a sacrifice fly.

The fourth inning was eventful for both sides as the Rangers scored four to take the lead. Lorenzen stepped up and tied the game at seven with a home run after back-to-back walks to Ty Cowley and Rodgers.

Jack O'Brasky started the day on the mound for BU, throwing three innings allowing two runs on four hits and recording three strikeouts. The Eagles bullpen stepped up big time throwing five scoreless innings. Gabe Magallan entered in the fourth inning and threw three innings giving up five hits and only one run.
