Eagles Turn the Tides

Harris pours in career-best 24 in win over Chaminade

HONOLULU, Hawaii --- The Biola men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing skid against Chaminade in McCabe Gymnasium on Thursday night. The Eagles defeated the Silverswords, 98-85.

Chris Harris and Cameron Brown led Biola with 24 points each. Tyus Parrish-Tillman secured his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Charlie Gehler found his stride with 15 points, all coming in the second half. Facundo Aranda tacked on six while Ay-Keen Richardson added five off the bench.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle. Harris and Brown combined for 23 first-half points and nine rebounds. Walker Weir posted seven points, converting Biola's lone three-pointer, while Parrish-Tillman added five points and seven boards. The Silverswords led by as many as 12 before the Eagles stormed back, finding themselves down by three going into halftime, 39-42.

Out of the break, BU caught fire. As a team, Biola shot 73 percent from the field, going 22-for-30 from the floor and 8-for-12 from three. Gehler and Harris combined for 10 points to keep Biola tied before Parrish-Tillman pushed the Eagles in front. Chaminade would draw even several times, but Biola never trailed again.

With the win, the Eagles snap a four-game losing streak and improve to 7-9 overall and 3-7 in PacWest play.

Biola will close out the Hawaii road trip against Hawaii Hilo on Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. PT (3 p.m. HT)
