Henley Posts 17 points on Senior Night

The women’s basketball team put up a fight on senior night but it wouldn’t be enough to overcome Westmont College in their 63-51 loss.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's basketball team put up a fight on senior night but it wouldn't be enough to overcome Westmont College in their 63-51 loss.

The Eagles didn't get the outcome they hoped for but have a lot to be proud of. Biola honored five seniors before the game. Sammie Henley, Kaylen Kamelamela, Hope Weber, Sydney Moran and Laila Walker played their last games at Chase Gymnasium.

All five seniors recorded minutes against the Warriors. Henley led the Eagles in scoring, racking up 17 points. She added two blocks, an assist and two rebounds to an impressive stat sheet. Walker also had a standout performance on senior night totaling nine points, three assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Jessa Thurman recorded her third double double of the season against the Warriors with 10 rebounds and 10 points.

The Eagles had their best offensive showing in the fourth quarter where they scored 18 points. Henley led the offensive charge with 11 points, three of which were three-pointers. Moran downed a three and Thurman and Kamelamela had two points each.

Biola has their last regular season game on Thursday, February at 5:15 p.m. at Azusa Pacific. The Eagles clinched the sixth spot in the PacWest Conference Championships in San Rafael, California.
