February 17, 2025

IRVINE, Calif. --- With two games to go, the Eagles have hit their stride with nine wins in their last nine games. Monday added to Biola's strong end of season run, as Erik Howlin was named PacWest Co-Player of the Week and the team was voted third in the west region.

The BU men's basketball squad already hit the 20-win mark, boasting a 20-6 overall record and a 14-4 conference mark with two weeks to go in the regular season. The team beat its previous best mark in the NCAA DII era with its ninth-straight win on Saturday. The run of success has brought national attention, helping them climb to a tie for third place in the D2CSC West Region Poll.

Howlin pushed the pace last week, aiding the Eagles in wins over Concordia and Vanguard. The redshirt junior put in work on offense, going for 22 points in each game. The two 20-point performances were the third and fourth for him this season, as he shot 44.8 percent from the field on the week.

With a short-handed Eagles lineup, Howlin did it all in 37 minutes played in both games. Through two games, Howlin accumulated 14 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and five steals.

The PacWest weekly honor was the first for Howlin in his three years at Biola.

The Eagles will be back at Chase Gymnasium for Senior Night on Saturday, taking on Westmont at 7:30 pm.
