BU Drops Season Opener

The women’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona in their season opener at Kellogg Stadium.

POMONA, Calif.---The Biola women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona in their season opener at Kellogg Stadium.

Biola's goalkeeper, Autum Monty, made six saves which kept the match close for her team. Five of her saves were made in the first half and the last was in the 84th minute of the second. 

Cal Poly Pomona knocked in goals in the 17th and 54th minutes and Biola struggled to find the offensive momentum to answer back. The Eagles were limited to six shots with one on-goal compared to Cal Poly Pomona's 15 and eight on-goal. Marije Rechin had BU's solo shot on-goal against CPP.

Biola (0-1) plays next on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7pm against Cal State East Bay at Al Barbour Field.
