The Eagles split the day on Saturday at Stanford, taking on tough competition.

STANFORD, Calif. --- Biola earned an invite to the Stanford Invitational between Saturday and Sunday and began their weekend, splitting their first two games. The 23rd-ranked Eagles moved to 3-3 on the season with a win over Santa Clara and a loss at No. 6 Stanford.

The weekend opened with a matchup for the Eagles against the reigning national champions, Stanford. The sixth-ranked squad played host for the morning match on Saturday.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and put the Eagles away for a 20-4 final score. BU found success on offense in the final stanza with three goals in the fourth. In the fourth quarter, Marija Mijuskovic and Ava LoBue scored on back-to-back possessions with help from Stanford exclusions.

The BU squad had a few hours to rest but then was right back in the pool to face Santa Clara in the afternoon.

Biola was ready to go and dominated the first half. Maria Roldan Gonzalez ensured a good start for the Eagles with the first two goals for the squad.

Veralie Naranjo took over in the second quarter with three goals in a row. The flurry of goals was crucial in the teams' 5-1 second quarter and the 8-2 halftime advantage.

Mijuskovic contributed three tallies in the second half, as the Eagles took down Santa Clara 14-8.

Naranjo delivered on offense with four goals and six drawn exclusions in the win. Roldan Gonzalez and Mijuskovic were not far behind with three scores apiece. Myah Ibarra scored her first collegiate goal on Saturday.

A big instigator on offense was Lizzy Birch. The junior utility compiled six points with a game-high four assists to go along with her two goals.
