Game Recap: Women's Water Polo |

Looking Forward

Biola can't muster up enough offense in nightcap, turns attention to CSUF rematch.

IRVINE, Calif. — In its day two finale at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational the Biola Eagles Women's Water Polo team ran up against the No. 1 NCAA DIvision III team, Pomona-Pitzer.

The Sagehens scored the first four goals of the game and kept Biola off the board in the first period en route to a 10-4 victory. It was a matchup between two teams currently just outside of the top-25 poll that contains all three divisions.

The Eagles could not shake off the slow start, tallying just four goals on 26 shots. The loss dropped Biola to 0-3 at the UC Irvine-hosted invitational. The Eagles will have one last shot at a win when the take the pool on Sunday in a rematch against CSU Fullerton.

The Titans first faced Biola a week ago at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aqautic Center. It was a tremendous battle as Biola took an early 3-1 lead, but a late four-goal stretch by CSUF lifted the visiting Titans to a 12-10 victory.

This loss drops Biola to 3-8 on the season. The bounce back chance happens at the Anteater Aquatic Center at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Follow the live scoring for the match at https://www.thefosh.net/live/16405
