Celebrating Seniors Right

The women’s basketball team celebrated their seniors with a 59-49 victory over Hawaii Pacific at Chase Gymnasium.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's basketball team celebrated their seniors with a 59-49 victory over Hawaii Pacific at Chase Gymnasium. 

Jordan Rabe, Natasa Radovic, Abigail Laberge and Madi Chang were Biola's four seniors who all recorded minutes tonight against the Sharks.

Rabe led Biola with 13 points which leaves her just seven points away from hitting a career total of 1,000. Additionally, Radovic led the Eagles with three steals, Chang recorded a team-high of three blocks and Laberge picked up a season-high of 15 minutes.

Biola led by one point heading into the third quarter (26-25). The Eagles extended their lead to as much as 10 points in the third quarter that the Sharks would cut down to seven by the end of the period (41-34).

The Eagles went on to have their best offensive showing in the fourth quarter where they posted 18 points. Laila Walker led her team with six points from two made threes. Radovic and Trasara Alexander were next-best with three points each and Jaycee Goldsmith, Jessa Thurman and Rabe contributed two.

BU led by as much as 18 points in the fourth frame, but the Sharks would trim down Biola's led to 10 by the end of the quarter (59-49).

The Eagles are still in contention for a PacWest Conference Championship slot. Right now Biola is in fifth place and needs to win out their last two games to punch their ticket.

BU's next game is Thursday, Feb. 29 at 5 pm against Academy of Art at Laney College Gym.
