Going Strong

The men’s tennis team kept their winning streak going, shutting out Hope International 4-0 at the Biola Tennis Center.

LA MIRADA---The Biola men's tennis team kept their winning streak going, shutting out Hope International 4-0 at the Biola Tennis Center. 

Biola got to work early, securing the doubles point with wins on courts 1 and 3. Nico Ramírez and Adrian Solorzano earned BU's first win on the first court, defeating their opponents 6-1. Alessandro Cadena and Ashton Heynes pulled through next, beating their opponents 6-3 on the third court.

The Eagles quickly clinched the match in singles, recording wins on courts 1, 6 and 4. Solorzano and Cadena picked up two wins against the Royals. Solorzano checked off Biola's first singles win, taking down HIU's Felix Hamp 6-1, 6-2. 

Cadena followed through next on the sixth court, knocking down his opponent 6-2, 6-0. 

Callen Hein had the clinching match on the fourth court, defeating HIU's Ricky Lizardo 6-1, 7-5. 

Courts 2, 3 and 5 were left unfinished. Alejandro Flores Monteverde was leading  6-2, 5-5 on the second court. 

The Eagles extended their winning streak to 3-0 and play next at home on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. against CUI.
