SAN DIEGO, Calif.---The Biola women's basketball team was bested 65-50 by Point Loma at Golden Gymnasium.

The Eagles trailed Point Loma 17-13 after the first frame and would go on to match PLNU point for point in the second (17-17). BU tied up the game 17-17 at 8:58 and would chip away at PLNU until they were able to grab a 22-20 lead thanks to a three-point basket from Laila Walker.

The Eagles lead would be short-lived as Point Loma tied up the game in the next possession. PLNU went on to grow their lead back to four points by the end of the quarter.

The second quarter would be Biola's best offensive quarter. Walker led the scoring effort with six points and she was followed by Kaylen Kamelamela (four), Jamelia Coleman (three) and Jaycee Goldsmith and Sydney Moran contributed two points.

Point Loma found a rhythm after the halftime break and would go on to out-score Biola 21-7 in the third quarter. The Sea Lions led Biola by 18 points after the third quarter and the Eagles managed to shave down PLNU's advantage to 15 in their eventual 65-50 loss.

Walker was Biola's leading scorer with 16 points. The redshirt-Senior scored her 1,000th career point last weekend against Fresno Pacific and her running total after tonight's contest is 1020 career points. Kamelamela also scored in the double-digits, tallying 12 points against Point Loma.
