BU Wins Final Tuneup Game Before Conference Play

For the second time this season, the BU men’s basketball squad took down La Sierra.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Nathan Medina was red-hot on Saturday, leading the Eagles to a 86-61 victory. The Biola (6-1) team defeated La Sierra on the road, sweeping the two-game season series with the Golden Eagles (0-10).

21 points came through for the junior guard, Medina. The sharp shooter put five threes through the basket, while only missing one attempt. He shot 80.0 percent from the floor and added six rebounds to his offensive outburst.

The team as a whole offered an efficient night, netting 32 field goals with a 53.3 field goal percentage. The Eagles went to work near the hoop, gathering 32 points in the paint.

Biola moved ahead in the first half with a rally sparked by Davian Brown. Brown completed an and-one to kick things off, and BU rattled off a 10-0 run for a 29-19 lead.

At the break, BU led by 13 but quickly pushed forward to a 20-point advantage within a few minutes of the second half. Biola's largest lead hit 28 points, while the team finished the game at 86-61.

It was an all-around effort on the offensive end with 10 Eagles impacting the scoring column with at least four points on Saturday.

BU dominated on the boards, outrebounding LSU 44-31.

Biola opens up conference play on Wednesday, facing Concordia at home at 7:30 pm.
