Stunned by Seawolves

The women’s basketball team was stunned in their 91-36 loss to Alaska Anchorage at Chase Gymnasium.

LA MIRADA—The Biola women's basketball team was stunned in their 91-36 loss to Alaska Anchorage at Chase Gymnasium.

Alaska Anchorage (5-1 overall) showed offensive dominance, out-scoring Biola (0-4) by at least 10 points in every frame. The Eagles also allowed UAA to score 29 additional points off of 23 turnovers. 

Biola's defense struggled to slow down UAA who shot 46.7 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. Additionally, six Seawolves managed to score in the double-digits.

Meanwhile, Alaska Anchorage also took care of business on defense. Biola tried to counter UAA's effort but was limited to a field goal percentage of 28.6 and a three-point percentage of 9.1.

Laila Walker led Biola's scoring effort with eight points and five assists. Jessa Thurman was next-best with seven points.

Biola plays next on Saturday, November 23 at 2:30 p.m. against Regis University.
