IRVINE, Calif. --- The Biola men's basketball squad got off to a great start for the 2024-25 campaign. Casey Cappo has played major role in the team's 3-1 start to the year and picked up the PacWest Defender of the Week award, as announced on Monday.

The forward provided the size for BU near the hoop, offering stout defense in the paint. Cappo nabbed three blocks last week, including two against No. 11 CSU San Bernardino.

He continued his defensive effort on the glass. The senior grabbed eight boards against CSUSB and seven against Cal Poly Pomona. 

Offensively, Cappo made big strides, totaling 40 points through the two games. In a win over the Broncos, Cappo tallied 25 points and thrived at the charity stripe, hitting 12 free throws on as many attempts.

Cappo and the Eagles will be back in action on Saturday at Chase Gymnasium at 7:30 pm.
