HAYWARD, Calif.---The Biola women's soccer team lost a tough 1-0 battle to CSU East Bay at Pioneer Soccer Stadium.

The Eagles (0-2-1 overall) and the Pioneers (1-0-1) played a closely fought first half where both teams struggled to get past the other.

Autum Monty made a momentum-changing save in the ninth minute that set Biola up for a successful half and CSUEB held their own with a crucial save in the 39th minute that kept the Eagles at bay.

Biola charged forward in the second half, supplying three more shots on goal but none got past the Pioneers' keeper.
