KANSAS CITY --- The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced its academic awards on Thursday, honoring the successes off the court for collegiate athletes. BU earned its stripes with the team honor and four individual awards, including Alex Wright, Zanen Zeller, Lucas Elliott and Kevin Stone.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

With 15 eligible athletes, the BU basketball team made the cut for the NABC Team Excellence Award with relative ease. Following the 2022-23 season, the Eagles boasted a team GPA of 3.25.

As individuals, Wright, Stone, Zeller, and Elliott added to their accolades with an NABC Honors Court award. Zeller and Elliott graduated in May with degrees in business administration, while Stone will enter his senior year in August majoring in business administration as well. Wright finished his undergraduate degree in business administration in 2021, before completing a Master's of Leadership and Innovation at Biola.

Over 1,800 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2022-23.
