IRVINE, Calif.---- Adrian Solorzano was selected as this week's PacWest Player of the Week for his key performances against Azusa Pacific. 

Solorzano was a key part of the Eagles' 5-2 win over APU. He started the match off with the first doubles win on the first court with his partner Antonio Rosales Varona. Solorzano and Rosales Varona teamed up to win 6-2 over APU's Leyton Bohren and Marko Nikoliuk to give the Eagles' an edge in doubles which led to Biola winning the doubles point. Solorzano's win with Rosales Varona improved their overall doubles record 4-0 and improved Solorzano's individual doubles record to 9-3 this season.

Solorzano's singles win against Azusa Pacific was a momentum-shifter that tied the match up 2-2. Prior to Solorzano's win, the Cougars received the first two singles wins which had them leading, 2-1.

Solorzano battled APU's Miha Velicki on the third court. Solorzano and Velicki played two competitive sets. Solorzano outlasted Velicki, winning a grueling first-set tiebreaker 78-66 and would go on to win the second set 7-5.

Solorzano improved 10-2 overall in singles with his win over APU's Velicki. 

The Eagles were also honored as the PacWest's Team of the Week for their avenging-win over nationally-ranked No. 29 Azusa Pacific.

Biola plays next today at 5 p.m. against Point Loma at the PLNU Tennis Courts.
