IRVINE, Calif. --- So far in 2023, the Eagles have won the battle in the painted area. A huge part of that has been the play of Maximo Milovich. The forward tallied a pair of double-doubles last week to pick up a PacWest Defender of the Week award, as announced on Monday.

The weekly honor was the third of the year for Milovich, who ended the week averaging 11.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 2023. 4.36 offensive rebounds per game leads the PacWest on the season and ranks second in the entire nation.

Last week, the Eagles split the week with home games against Dominican and Academy of Art. Milovich reached double-figures in scoring and rebounding for both contests, adding to his season total of eight double-doubles.

Through the two games, the 6-8 forward averaged 15.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. On Saturday, Milovich was extremely efficient, hitting seven of nine shot attempts for a 77.7 field goal percentage.

Biola men's basketball will be back in action on the road at Point Loma on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
