LA MIRADA---The Biola Women's Basketball team lost 49-35 to Academy of Art on Saturday afternoon at Chase Gymnasium.

Biola (10-12,8-6) was just behind ART U (6-15,6-9) at the conclusion of the first quarter and would give ART U a fight in the second where the Eagles would take a short lead before ART U came back on top.

Biola's second quarter lead came in the opening minutes. Aysia Johnson would tie up the game by making the first two baskets (16-16) and would then boost the Eagles ahead by sinking in a free throw, 17-16. 

The Eagles' lost their lead with the Urban Knights next basket and the visitors would go on to score seven-consecutive baskets which would grow their lead 28-17.

Biola regrouped in the third quarter and steadily cut away at the Urban Knights lead until they were trailing by just five points, 36-31.

Academy of Art came back strong in the final frame where they would go on to outscore Biola 13-4 which would translate to a 49-35 win in the visitor's favor.

Johnson led the Eagles scoring effort this afternoon with 14 points. She was followed by Laila Walker with seven and Jordan Rabe with five.

The Eagles play next on Wednesday, Feb. 8 against Point Loma at the Golden Gymnasium.
