Biola returned to the winning column at the CSU Fullerton Round Robin, defeating the host squad, 11-7.

FULLERTON, Calif. --- 24 minutes was all the Eagles needed to build the right lead for a win on Wednesday evening. BU (4-9) scored 11 through three periods to take down CSU Fullerton (5-6) by a 11-7 margin.

BU entered the game with a brief losing streak but turned things around with a great all-around performance. The Biola squad led the Titans in every category, including winning three of four sprints.

The opening four minutes was back and forth with each team nabbing a pair of scores. CSU Fullerton struck first but the teams would trade for a 2-2 tie.

Next up, the Eagles took over. Biola goals began to pour in, as the team went on a 7-0 run. Kourtney Pyle kicked it off with three-straight scores, including the game-tying score to put the team up at 5-2. Two more goals came in the final minute of the first and then two more in the first two minutes of the second quarter.

Through 10 minutes of game action, the Eagles jumped to an 8-2 lead. Rachel Spadt got out to a hot start with three goals in the first half.

The defense for the BU squad kept up the pressure after the halftime break. Despite the lead, the team did not back down and held the Titans scoreless throughout the eight minute stretch.

On the other end, Biola tacked on three more goals and extended their lead. Marija Mijuskovic tallied a pair of goals in the period, which preceded a score from Maria Roldan Gonzalez.

CSU Fullerton put up a fight to end the game but the Eagles were too far ahead. Ultimately, BU claimed the 11-7 victory at the Titans Aquatics Complex.

12 steals came in from the Eagles with Mijuskovic leading the way at four and Pyle adding three.

Samantha Rainey and Alicia Fregoso joined forces in the net to log the victory. Rainey held down the reigns in the opening half and picked up three saves, before Fregoso nabbed two in the second.

The Eagles will be back in the pool on Saturday, taking on Concordia and Whittier in the Whittier Round Robin.
