Eagles Get Shutout by Sea Lions

The women’s soccer team struggled to create offensive opportunities against Point Loma, resulting in their 2-0 loss at Al Barbour Field.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's soccer team struggled to create offensive opportunities against Point Loma, resulting in their 2-0 loss at Al Barbour Field.

The Eagles (1-8-1 overall, 0-3 PacWest Conference) fell behind the Sea Lions (6-2-1, 2-1 PacWest) when they scored an early goal in the first half (12th minute).

Biola would fall behind further in the second half when PLNU scored their second goal in the 58th minute.

The Eagles held the Sea Lions from there on out, but weren't able to come back offensively in their 2-0 loss.

Biola sent seven shots Point Loma's way, six in the first half and one in the second. Meanwhile, BU limited PLNU to 12 shots, five of which were on target and three were saved by Autum Monty.

Peyton Nelson led Biola with three shots. Halie Jamir, Briley Phelps, Abby Chavez, and Marije Rechin each had one. 

The Eagles will regroup and play next on Monday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. PT against Hawai'i Hilo at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
