Eagles Shutout Sharks

The women’s soccer team shutout HPU 1-0 at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park.

HONOLULU, Hawaiʻi---The Biola women's soccer team shutout Hawaiʻi Pacific 1-0 at  the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park.

Peyton Nelson knocked in the game-winner in the 59th minute with the help of Briley Phelps who earned an assist. Nelson logged her fourth goal of the season and Phelps cataloged her third assist of the year.

The Eagles continued to play strong defense, which led them to successfully hold their 1-0 lead for the remainder of the game. 

Autum Monty recorded her first shutout of the season where she faced 26 shots and made seven saves as Biola's goalkeeper. Three of her seven saves were made after BU's goal. Monty totals 50 saves in the season.

Offensively, Biola had 15 shots in the night and seven were saved by the Sharks' keeper. Nelson led her team with six shots, four of which were on-goal.

The Eagles improve 3-9-1 overall and 2-4 in the PacWest Conference while the Sharks fall 1-7-4 and 1-3-3 in the PacWest.

Biola will return to La Mirada and prepare for their next match at Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m.
