BU volleyball returned to the winning column with a clean sweep over Hawaii Pacific.

HONOLULU, Hawaii --- Biola made quick work of its Thursday night matchup, earning its sixth sweep of the season. The Eagles (12-6, 8-3 PacWest) defeated the Hawaii Pacific Sharks (2-12, 2-8 PacWest) in a convincing 3-0 fashion, 25-12, 25-22, 25-14, inside the HPU Shark Tank.

The win marked the first win for BU in October, as the team ended a three-match losing streak.

The BU attack was extremely efficient on its 44 kills in three sets. As a team, the Eagles posted a .400 hitting percentage with 44 kills on 85 swings. Nine different Eagles tallied at least one kill, while five picked up more than five on the night.

Emily Smith was the leader in the clubhouse, posting 10 kills with a .533 hitting percentage. Hannah Hanson aided the strong attack numbers with a team-high 18 assists. Abby Brewster did her part as well, dishing out 15 assists to go along with nine kills and three block assists.

Biola boasted its largest lead of 13 twice in set number one and never trailed by more than four throughout the contest.

Set One: Biola grabbed the first four points of the set and never looked back. BU led the entire way with Smith landing six kills on seven swings.

Set Two: A good back-and-forth set featured seven ties and five lead changes. The Sharks used a strong push in the middle of the set to open up a 18-16 lead but BU had a response. A 4-0 run for BU flipped the script, behind a block assist and a kill from Abigail Copeland. Meredith Fisher finished off the set with a kill for a 25-22 win.

Set Three: A 6-1 run for the Eagles gave the team solid separation at 17-9. The BU squad dominated the back half of the set for a comfortable 25-14 win. The kills came from everywhere as Juliana Van Ommering, Copeland, and Brewster each nabbed three kills in the set.

BU will wrap up its Hawaii trip on Saturday, taking the court against Hawaii Hilo at 10:00 pm PST.
