IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola basketball scored its third conference weekly honor with a spectacular showing from Alex Wright. The senior captain led the Eagles to hard-fought wins last week on the way to a PacWest Player of the Week honor.

The Eagles extended their winning streak to three last week with a pair of PacWest triumphs. The BU squad took down Holy Names and Fresno Pacific at home, taking control late to improve to 10 wins in the season.

Both bouts were tightly contested but timely surges from Wright propelled the team forward. Wright paced the team in points for both contests, finding consistent success at the free throw line. The veteran sank his foul shots, going 9-12 on Thursday and 8-10 on Saturday.

Through the week, Wright upped his season average by 1.4 to 15.5 points per game. He reached 20 points in both contests, tallying his season-best showing on Saturday with 26 points. Saturday marked his third 20-point performance of the 2022-23 campaign.

Wright and the Eagles (10-5, 5-3 PacWest) will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they take on Hawaii Pacific at 6:00 pm PST.
