Biola had the recipe to take down Chaminade in a 95-71 rout at home on Friday.

LA MIRADA --- The BU men's basketball team kicked off Friday's festivities inside Chase Gymnasium. The team did not disappoint, claiming a comfortable 95-71 victory over the visiting Chaminade Silverswords (10-12, 5-9 PacWest).

Just 11 days ago, BU and CUH played in Hawaii and the Silverswords found the advantage in overtime. Friday in La Mirada had a different story with a hungry Biola squad.

The Eagles (13-7, 8-5 PacWest) started aggressive on offense, utilizing their size advantage inside. Maximo Milovich and Hunter Ruck were dominant in the paint, scoring and grabbing rebounds. In the first half, Biola paced the Silverswords 28-18 in points in the paint.

Biola built its biggest lead of the first half with a 26-15 run. Efficiency heavily favored the Eagles, who shot 50.0 percent from the three-point line and 48.7 percent from the field. On the other end, Chaminade went just 2-11 from long range, while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor.

Daniel Esparza beat the buzzer in the opening half to give the Eagles a 43-30 lead. The sophomore made a running layup that touched nothing but the net right as the last second of the half ticked on the clock.

Biola came out of the break hot from outside. The Eagles consistently added to their lead with excellent three-point shooting. Eight three-pointers rained down in the second half alone, while converting at a 72.7 percent rate from beyond the arc.

Just two minutes into the second half, the Eagles had already jumped ahead by 20. BU's advantage continued to balloon and peaked at 34.

Esparza led the way in the three-point column for BU. He collected five in the contest and posted a total of 17 points on Friday.

Alex Wight came through as the top scorer with 22 points and a 77.8 field goal percentage. The senior tacked on six rebounds, three assists and two blocks to contribute everywhere on the court.

Biola fans were on triple-double watch with the stout performance of Milovich. The standout logged team-highs in rebounds (16) and assists (8), while adding eight points. 16 boards and eight assists also made for career-highs for the junior.

The BU squad will return to the court on Thursday, facing off against Dominican at 7:30pm inside Chase Gym.
