Let the Good Times Roll

A two match weekend resulted in two wins for BU, as the Eagles tacked on a clean sweep on Saturday.

LA MIRADA --- The Eagles took care of business on Saturday, picking up their second win of the weekend. The Dominican Penguins (0-11, 0-3 PacWest) came to La Mirada and were swept by Biola (6-5, 3-1 PacWest) in a 25-15, 25-16, 25-15 final.

The highlight of the day came from Abby Brewster. The senior set a career mark, reaching 1,000 assists at Biola.

In 2022, Brewster has already set a new personal-best in a single season with 406 assists through 11 matches. With 20 assists on Saturday against Dominican, Brewster pushed her average to 9.23 assists per set this season.

Besides the first point of the afternoon, the Eagles never trailed through the three sets. Early in each set, Biola rallied to gain control and refused to relent. Biola built a double-digit lead in all three sets to cruise in the sweep.

The service line was a friend to the Biola Eagles on Saturday. The BU squad posted its season-best performance with 16 aces split between eight Eagles. Anna Aubele notched a team-high with five aces, which made for her career-best.

Eight more Eagles landed a kill in the win. Dominique Kirton was efficient at the net with five kills on seven attempts for a .714 hitting percentage.

Brezlyn Langer was strong on the defense, grabbing one solo block and one block assist.

Biola volleyball will look to continue its win streak on Wednesday with another home match against Concordia at 6:00 pm.
