SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Biola Men's Tennis made it a clean 2-for-2 for the Eagles on Friday as they shutout the hosting Westmont Warriors up in beautiful Santa Barbara.

Biola dropped one doubles match, but won the doubles point and all six singles matches en route to a 7-0 victory. It was coach Goodman's squad's second-consecutive 7-0 victory and fourth shutout win of the 2022 season.

It was a return to Westmont for Biola's
Callen Hein, who spent last year with the Warriors before transferring to La Mirada this season. Hein paired with
Isaac Cordova to win 6-2 in doubles and then took No. 4 singles in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) for a triumphant day.

No. 3 doubles helped Biola secure the doubles point as
Ian Nieh and
Andres Meneses combined for a decisive 6-0 victory. It was the first time this season for both those pairings to play together.

The Eagles showed why they've now won five-straight matches by flexing their muscle in singles competition. It was straight-set wins up and down the lineup to lift the Eagles to the speedy 7-0 victory.

Hein's 6-1, 6-1 win set the tone, but Meneses at no. 5 and
Ashton Heynes at no. 6 also had consistent dominant efforts equating to a pair of 6-4, 6-4 wins. Hein moved to 4-0 in singles and Meneses stayed undefeated at 2-0.

Cordova needed a tiebreaker to win a closely-contested first set, but other than that it was free-and-easy for he,
Alexei Prokopchuk and
Alex Sedeno to sweep the top-3 spots. Sedeno improved to 7-0 for the year, while Prokopchuk notched his team-high ninth win (and moved to 2-0 at No. 1).

The win helps the Eagles improve to 8-2 overall. Next up is a 2 p.m. home match against Michigan Tech (0-2) on Tuesday.
