IRVINE, Calif. --- Hard work defined the Eagles performances last week, leading to success across programs. The BU volleyball and men's basketball teams nabbed big wins, leading to conference honors on Monday. Bri Bellfi and Maximo Milovich each picked up a PacWest Defender of the Week award for their efforts in three combined wins.

Bellfi and the volleyball squad began the week with senior night against Point Loma. Biola put together a statement win, dropping the Sea Lions in four sets. The regular season finale came on Saturday, which saw a come from behind win for BU, as the team took down Concordia in five sets on the road.

BU's libero was a key cog in the back row through both contests. Bellfi consistently kept the opposing attacks off the floor, grabbing a total of 49 digs between the two matches. She averaged 5.44 digs per set and posted her best single game output at 26 digs against PLNU.

On the basketball court, the Eagles opened their season at Cal State LA on Friday. The game was a rout for BU, as they cruised in a 35-point victory in Los Angeles.

Milovich used his length to impact the game. The 6-8 forward helped limit the CSULA offense in the paint and kept the Eagles ahead in the rebounding battle. 15 rebounds from Milovich led all players in the matchup and he added four offensive rebounds to aid BU in 17 second chance points.

Milovich and the men's basketball squad is back in action on Monday night for their home opener at 7:00 pm.
