SAN RAFAEL, Calif.---The Biola University women's soccer team picked up their second-straight win in the last three days against Dominican University, improving to a modest two-match winning streak.
The Eagles (3-6-1, 2-1 PacWest Conference) successfully shutout the Penguins (2-6-4, 0-4-1 PacWest) 3-0, excelling in the second half.Â
Jazmin Montalvo knocked in the first goal of the match in the 46th minute, thanks to a nice pass from Marije Rechin.
Biola improved their lead in the 69th minute with a solo-shot goal by Mason Stansberry (2-0).
And the Eagles final goal came from Peyton Nelson with an assist from Stansberry in the 79th minute.Â
BU and DU were even on shots, both taking 11. Biola was a bit more efficient than Dominican, having seven on-target to the Penguin's four.
Anna Boyer received her second shutout of the season as the Eagles' goalkeeper. Boyer had four saves which gave her 25 this season. Boyer ranks seventh-best for saves in the PacWest Conference.
Jess Hase and Rechin led the defensive wall, picking up 90 minutes of action a piece.

Madi Reeves were also key defenders playing 88 and 77 minutes respectfully.Â
Biola plays next on Wednesday, October 12 at 4 p.m. against Point Loma at Al Barbour Field.
