LA MIRADA---The Biola University Women's Soccer team made their best effort to defend against a highly aggressive Point Loma last night, eventually falling 2-1 to the Sea Lions.
Point Loma came in with an aggressive game plan, firing 19 shots to Biola's eight.
Anna Boyer was active in the goal, making a career-high of nine saves.
Point Loma quickly found their way onto the scoreboard in just the 10th minute of action.
The Sea Lions would improve upon their lead in the second half, scoring first again. PLNU held a 2-0 advantage over the Eagles until the 75th minute where Mason Stansberry got her team within a goal's reach.
Christine Maranville sent a quick pass Stansberry's way. Stansberry then collected the pass and fired in BU's first goal (2-1).
Biola continued to press on, but were unable to work their way around Point Loma's defensive line.
Biola is now (3-7-1, 2-2-0 PacWest Conference) while Point Loma improved (8-1-2, 3-0-0 PacWest).
The Eagles play next on Saturday, October 15 at 3:30 p.m. against Concordia University Irvine.
