Rossow is Rolling

Biola added its third-straight win, as Chris Rossow notched back-to-back 30-point performances.

HONOLULU, Hawaii --- 2022 has seen Chris Rossow on a mission for the Biola men's basketball squad (11-2, 5-1 PacWest). The guard notched back-to-back 30-point outings with a 33-point performance on Saturday. The offensive output from Rossow helped the Eagles overcome Chaminade (5-8, 3-4 PacWest) on Saturday afternoon.

Three-pointers were falling for Rossow, who went 7-8 from long range in the win. The smooth stroke guided the senior to the sensational result of 33 points, marking a personal-best for Rossow in a Biola uniform.

The Freeport, Texas native impacted the game quickly, leading a rally in the opening half. Down by one at 10-11, Biola needed a push with 13 minutes remaining in the half. Rossow led the way with seven points in a 3:25 stretch. The BU squad scored on six-straight possessions, as three other Eagles tallied a field goal for a 13-0 run.

A 13-7 rally for the hosting Swords turned the tide in the second half. The strong stretch coming out of the break saw the lead for the Eagles fall to just three.

Who else but Rossow to snap the Eagles out of the slow spell. Back-to-back three-pointers from Rossow tripled the BU lead and reset the pace of the contest. Biola returned to form and rebuilt its advantage to 14 halfway through the second half.

The Swords would not go quietly, though. CUH chiseled away at its deficit, bringing them within six points in the final minute of the game. Four free throws from Alex Wright sealed the win, as the Eagles triumphed 77-68.

Wright played an important role in the offense on Saturday, offering 16 points. The senior logged every minute on the court and paced the squad with six assists.

Every Eagle who saw game action on Saturday nabbed at least one rebound. Six student-athletes for Biola accumulated at least four rebounds, as the effort on the boards was a team effort.

Biola will complete its Hawaii trip on Monday in a game against Hawaii Hilo at 4:00 pm PST.
