Madison Beebe records 23 kills as Biola defeats Texas A&M International, 3-1

ANCHORAGE, Ak. --- Madison Beebe continues to shine for Biola Volleyball as the outside hitter led the Eagles to their second straight victory, defeating Texas A&M International 3-1 in the first of two matches on Saturday at the Seawolf Invitational.  

Biola Volleyball (2-1) took down Texas A&M International (0-3) 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23 in In nearly identical fashion to their victory over Alaska Fairbanks, the Eagles took the opening set and after dropping the second set won two straight to take the match. 


Beebe's career game comes just one night after she set a new career high with 15 kills in Biola's 3-1 against Alaska Fairbanks on Friday night. The outside hitter continued her success and set another career high for the second straight game, tallying 23 on 51 attempts for a .353 hitting percentage. 

Beebe recorded her first double-double of the season, logging 23 kills and 12 digs for the Eagles. Abby Brewster and Abigail Copeland each recorded eight kills. 

The Eagles continued to serve their opponents tough as they recorded six aces, Brewster and Hover led the charge with two aceS a piece.

Copeland led the Eagles at the net with six blocks while Dani Bryand and Abby Brewster added four blocks of their own. 

Biola setter, Vanessa Garcia, continues to excel on the court and notched her third double-double in just as many games. The graduate student set a new career high with 47 assists, surpassing her previous high of 42 against Concord in the 2019 season. 

Defensively, Sami Hover continued to anchor down the back row recording 23 digs. Garcia added 13 digs of her own while Beebe added 12. 

The Eagles will play their second of the first double-header of the season at 5 P.M. as they face off against Indianapolis.
