LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Less than a week after clinching the SoCal pod and a spot in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship, the Biola men's basketball team compiled four All-PacWest postseason honors. 

Head Coach Dave Holmquist headlined the list as the PacWest Coach of the Year for the 2021 campaign. The 41-year veteran led the Eagles to an impressive run, winning eight of their last nine games to secure the PacWest SoCal Pod Championship. 

At the helm, Holmquist added to his impressive list of accomplishments this season, notching his ninth conference/district Coach of the Year award. Holmquist also joined an exclusive list of five coaches to have hit the incredible 1,000 win milestone, which he reached against Concordia on February 27.

Michael Bagatourian, Chris Rossow and Alex Wright helped Biola to its historic 2021 season, as the trio were each selected to the All-PacWest squad.

Bagatourian notched his second career All-PacWest honor on Wednesday, following his best season in La Mirada. The senior posted 16.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game from the guard position. Bagatourian offered his best performance against Azusa Pacific on February 12, recording 31 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field and four three-pointers.

Rossow was a great scorer and distributor for BU throughout the season, averaging 13.2 points and 6.4 assists per game. The 5-9 guard collected his second double-double at Biola in a matchup against Concordia on February 5, collecting 15 points and 10 assists. The Wednesday announcement marked the first All-PacWest recognition for Rossow.

Wright also grabbed his first All-PacWest award, leading the team in points (207), rebounds (104), three-pointers (19) and minutes played (453). Consistency was key for Wright who logged double-digit scoring in all 12 games of the season, including four double-doubles in a six game stretch. The senior guard offered an all-around effort in the regular season finale, finishing just shy of a triple-double with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Eagles (9-3) will begin the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball West Region Championship on Friday at the Lockridge Arena in Golden, Colorado. BU's opening round matchup is set with Fresno Pacific (11-4) at 5:00 p.m.
