A hot start to 2021 has set up the Eagles for national recognition.

December 07, 2021

LA MIRADA --- The Biola men's basketball team has already made its mark on the 2021-22 campaign. After acquiring a No. 4 rating in the west region on Monday, the Eagles pulled in multiple votes in the NABC Top-25 Poll and the D2SIDA Top-25 Media Poll, which were released on Tuesday.

BU entered the poll having won its last five contests by an average margin of 26 points. The 5-0 stretch has the Eagles sitting at 8-1 overall, while remaining at a perfect 2-0 mark in PacWest play.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches and the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors of America both revealed their most recent NCAA DII Top-25 National Polls on Tuesday, December 7. Biola gathered seven points in the NABC poll and five points in the D2SIDA poll.

Ball distribution and rebounding have been major factors in Biola's successful start to the season. A plus-15.1 rebounding margin for BU ranks second in the nation, while the team also rates amongst the top-10 in total rebounds and rebounds per game. Chris Rossow instigates the offense from his point guard position, helping Biola rank 12th in assists per game and fifth in total assists.

The BU squad is set for three more contests in the 2021 calendar year. A road matchup against Azusa Pacific starts it off on Saturday, while the Eagles take on Dominican and Concordia at home later in December.
