BU Begins Road Trip

In an away match against the undefeated Sea Lions on Wednesday afternoon, BU fell to the host squad, 4-0.

SAN DIEGO — Biola traveled down to San Diego on Wednesday to take on Point Loma and begin its five-match road trip. In their second PacWest contest of the season, the Eagles (3-5-1, 1-1-0 PW) were overcome by Point Loma (6-0-1, 2-0-0 PW). The Sea Lions remained undefeated with the win, taking down BU by a 4-0 final score.

The two teams were each scoreless through the first 45 minutes of action. Anna Boyer kept PLNU off the scoreboard in the first half with three saves. The Eagles' defense fought off a plethora of Sea Lion opportunities, fending off seven shots and six corner kicks to keep the 0-0 tie.

On the day, Biola could not find its offensive momentum. Zero shots in the first half turned into one in the second with the Eagles not seeing many chances at the net.

The host squad took advantage of its runs in the second half, opening up a three-goal lead in a ten-minute span. PLNU hit the scoreboard in the 48th minute, before adding a pair of scores off of two corner kicks. The fourth and final tally for the Sea Lions came late in the match to finalize the 4-0 scoreline.

With 90 minutes played on Wednesday, Chloe Laurin extended her streak to nine-straight matches playing every minute of the contest.

Biola will return to action at Fresno Pacific on Saturday at 5:00 pm.
